Rock Hard 4x4 is very proud to offer the strongest Rear Frame Brace Kit for your decades old Jeep frame!
PLEASE NOTE: Welding required.
The RH4x4 Rear Frame Brace Kit strengthens your factory rear cross member by bracing it directly to your frame rails. On a Jeep YJ some welding is required since your rear shackle sits so close to your frame.
The rear cross member twists over time and with the addition of a heavier aftermarket rear bumper, like our RH-2001-C Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier, you are adding upwards of 100 lbs to a frame that's decades old. Beef up your rear end with the addition of our Frame Brace Kit.
Strength and Function Your rear bumper has the potential to take more abuse than any other body armor on your Jeep. Whether its on road traffic collisions or off road rock damage, you need some serious armor to keep you safe. Brace that major upgrade by bolting our heavy duty bracket to your frame rails and the backside of your thin cross member.
What comes in every kit:
Rear Frame Brace Brackets
Three Reasons Why:
Strengthens rear cross member
Powder coated for weather resistance
Unmatched quality and fitment
Rock Hard 4x4 Heavy Duty Frame Kits: For Wranglers and Jeep CJ's running heavier / larger spare tires, Tank Mounts, or Rock Rack Cargo Baskets should consider our Frame Kits. These help support your rear bumper to your frame. All are bolt on except the RH-2001-YJ which requires welding.
FAQ: What finishes are available? Rock Hard 4x4 Rear Frame Brace Kits ship powder coated black with a semi-smooth, semi-gloss finish. Raw, paintable finish available upon request.
Where is this kit made? This product, like all RH4x4 parts, was designed, developed, tested, manufactured, and if applicable, powder coated, and shipped in the USA. And we don't mean the 75% legal standard to be able to say Made in USA. We are 100% Made in the United States of America!
Of the few brackets I could find for a YJ these looked the best. I trimmed the gusset to allow clearance for the bumper bolts' washers. I also trimmed the gusset because as it came, it would have been impossible to remove the body mount bolt in the future, but realistically how often do you need to remove that bolt?Installation was made easier by unbolting and dropping the rear springs at t
Only brackets I could find for a YJ, worked great.
